Prevent MEP from Revoking Driver's Licenses Due to Payment Arrears

The Issue

In Alberta, Canada, the Maintenance Enforcement Program (MEP) has the authority to suspend driver's licenses of those who fall behind in their payments. This punitive measure can have severe impacts on individuals' lives, affecting their ability to work and provide for their families. According to a report by the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC), this policy has led to significant hardship for many Albertans. We believe that while it is crucial for individuals to meet their financial obligations, taking away one's ability to drive is an excessive punishment that can exacerbate financial struggles rather than alleviate them. We call upon our elected officials and relevant authorities in Alberta to review and amend this policy. Let us find more compassionate ways of dealing with payment arrears that do not unduly penalize those already facing financial difficulties. Please sign this petition if you believe in fair treatment and justice for all Albertans also all of canada. It's hard enough in this trueau Era to survive,  taking away one's ability to drive eliminates many job opportunities. Itsb proven fact theres more individiuals entering into the justice system and serving outragous jail sentences for driving while disqualified or unauthorized, just trying to keep a job and make it there. Everyone who's been through this or know a loved one who is going through this or yourself is in this situation sign this please make a change for the better. If you viewed this petition sign it you would be forever remembered
