Prevent huge traffic flux wildlife destruction. Block KBar Ranch & Easton Park connection
The Issue
Endangerment to the green belt!
Those of us calling Tampa, FL home, the serenity and natural splendor of KBar Ranch and Easton Park is not just a sight, but a living part of us. Our local wildlife thrives there, the natural flow between the ponds and forest patches goes mostly undisturbed, and many children play around without fear. With plans to open up KBar Ranch to Morris Bridge, VIA the currently calm and peaceful Easton Park not only are we looking at the potential massacre of rich and diverse wildlife, but also the disruption of our children's safety due to unnecessary traffic and intrusive human activities.
This isn't just about aesthetics. Deforestation destroys the habitats of numerous species. The United Nations' Food and Agriculture Organization reports that 80% of Earth's land animals and plants live in forests, and many cannot survive deforestation (source: UN FAO). That's the grim future we're looking at for KBar Ranch The longer we allow for this push to continue.
However, all is not lost. We have alternatives available. So why aren't we exploring them instead of toppling our nature's haven? We demand that these destructive activities be stopped, and efforts be put towards more sustainable and community-friendly solutions. Let's raise our voices in unity. Let's protect what's rightfully ours and ensure a safer future for our children, and countless life forms depending on their natural habitats. (Call for action - prevent opening by legal political ways - ensure proper checks are done prior to fully approve this construction. There is now a creek runing on this path.) Please sign this petition to prevent these plans from moving forward.
