Prevent Chapman University from Implementing Divestment and Sanctions against Israel

Prevent Chapman University from Implementing Divestment and Sanctions against Israel
The Issue
As parents of Chapman University Jewish students, we watch our children grow and learn within a community that has always championed values of unity, tolerance, respect, and inclusion. Now, however, a proposed policy threatens to infringe on this cherished learning environment. We urge Chapman University to refrain from any decisions to financial boycott, divestment, and sanction against Israel. Israel, a country that has been under immense strain since October 7th, doesn't need further destabilization but understanding and cooperation.
There's a misleading narrative suggesting that Israel initiated the ongoing conflicts which is factually incorrect. This narrative is not in line with the reality of the situation on the ground. According to The Jerusalem Post, Israel has frequently been the target of rocket fire and terrorist incursions from numerous militant factions.
Moving Chapman University towards divestment and sanctions against Israel would only serve to exacerbate an already volatile situation, steering us away from a path of resolution and peace, while fostering an atmosphere of division and instability within our university. We firmly believe that our university’s resources should be used to promote knowledge, understanding, and cooperation, rather than being manipulated for political objectives.
Let's stand together to uphold the values of cooperation, unity, and respect, which we believe are instrumental to achieving lasting peace. We call on the Chapman University administration to reject any proposals that support boycott, divestment and sanctions against Israel.
