Preston South Primary School strongly fosters children’s sense of belonging as well as their wellbeing and development; offering a wonderful setting for children to commence their formal learning journey. For thirty years, Preston South Primary school has been proudly teaching languages, including Greek, which reflect the both the school and the local community.

Unfortunately the program might not be continued in the near future. We wish to express our support to continue the Greek Program, as we believe it has fundamental aspect within the school Community. For many students within the school, this program provides them with a stronger sense of belonging, building identity and wellbeing as their culture is not only reflected in their home, but in their school also.

Preston South Primary is one of the only local schools which offered a Greek program, making it an important part of the Greek community and a school which values both diversity and cultural inclusion. We would love to see this program continue, and believe that it would do a disservice to the community if it were to disappear from the curriculum!
