Since the petition was launched Zhang Kai has reportedly been placed under criminal detention, after serving six months in ‘residential surveillance in a designated location’, otherwise known as a black jail. Additionally, the authorities are reported to have summoned Zhang’s father to the Wenzhou Municipal Public Security Bureau (PSB) on February 25, and he has not been seen since. It is presumed that the elder Zhang is being forcibly held by the Wenzhou PSB. Please continue to share this campaign with others and let’s get as many people as we can to raise their concern over this treatment of Zhang Kai, calling for his immediate and unconditional release.
