Save the federal programs that deliver after-school food aid to low-income kids!

The Trump Administration is proposing to completely eliminate federal programs that deliver after-school and summer food aid to low-income children because it claims that there is "no demonstrable evidence" that this aid improves school performance.
Currently, the federal government provides $3.6 billion in aid for programs including the Child and Adult Care Food Program, which serves snacks and meals to 3.7 million children in day- and after-school care daily, the Summer Food Service Program, which provides 3 million daily participants with 160 million meals during the summer, and the Special Milk Program, which provides 50 million children with supplemental milk.
Given that the USDA's latest figures show that more than 3 million US households with children were food insecure last year, meaning "these households were unable at times to provide adequate, nutritious food for their children," it is obvious that cutting these programs will hurt some of the most vulnerable people in our society.
President Trump and members of Congress, don't cut food aid to low income children!
