感謝您的支持。本聯署發起迄今半個月，引起了發起人之我當初無法想像的重大迴響。一夜之間，一間具有殖民歷史的高等學府—香港大學，與「殖民主義」與「橫向種族歧視」等現象之間的可能關連，都成為社會乃至國際的焦點問題，真是求之不得的正面發展。

聯署並未達成目標，即日起宣告失敗。今日的失敗乃為明日勝利之母，千萬不要氣餒！

Dear Petition Supporters.

Thank you for your support for this petition.

Over half a month since it first started, this petition has garnered more support and more attention than I could have ever dream possible.

As if overnight, the problems of colonialism and horizontal racism in relation to a special institution of higher education with a colonial past, the University of Hong Kong, have become a pressing issue of concern in both Hong Kong and elsewhere across the globe. This is truly gratifying.

The petition did not achieve its goal and must be considered a failure. Today’s failures can still contribute to the change that we want to see for tomorrow.

Please hold forgiveness and understanding in your heart, especially for those who expressed their opposition to the petition through lies, defamation, bigotry, hatred, and, most regrettably of all, more racism.
