With the election of Donald Trump more groups of people are at risk for discrimination, violence, and deportation. Publicly declare McDaniel College a sanctuary campus. We must protect vulnerable groups during this time. Instate a zero-tolerance policy with strict consequences for violence, discrimination, hateful actions or speech against students, staff, or faculty based on race, religion, sexual orientation, disability status, gender identity, or political preference. We will not tolerate an administration run on hate, fear, and discrimination. If the administration passes policy on the internment, registration, or deportation of undocumented residents or Muslims, we will stand in protest for our fellow students, staff, and faculty. As a sanctuary campus, McDaniel's on-campus police or Campus Safety will not team up with the federal government on deportation raids. McDaniel College will not release the documentation status of students. McDaniel is a small community, we demand that it's members be protected no matter what.
