The United States Postal Service is understaffed and abusing its employees; CHANGE and restructure is needed TODAY!!!

A workweek for a letter carrier, since COVID, the rise of Amazon deliveries, the lack of carriers available, has become a 10- to 12-hour work day, six days a week, in a LLV vehicle that is 10 degrees hotter than the outdoor temperature even registers!  The letter carriers available on staff to work is at its lowest and routes are being covered by a skeleton crew, and it is absolutely TAKING ITS TOLL on them physically, mentally, and it has to STOP!  The morale at the Untied States Postal Service it at its lowest!   It is absolutely INHUMANE how these hard-working men and women are being treated!

I love my mailman, my husband, and this job is BREAKING him, his spirit, his body! He wants to retire when it’s his time to, but I fear that if he doesn’t quit before then, he’ll end up a tattered man that gave his life to the USPS, and ends up broken from it!  Many letter carriers are retiring early and/or quitting because of the long, enduring schedule that's been put upon them with no hope in sight!  Why should they be forced to quit a job that they love and have been dedicated to, some for over 25 years, all to lose everything they've worked for, just because of inadequate management and lack of structure and care for employees' well-being?  Why isn't the USPS appealing to the younger generation to come work for them aggressively?  If they don't restructure, how can they compete?  

I will NOT idly stand by as if the USPS couldn’t do better by their employees because they can, and they SHOULD BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE for their abuses on their staff!!!  t's time for CHANGE at the UNITED STATES POSTAL SERVICE!

Everybody should KNOW the TRUTH!!!

Why isn’t the USPS changing with the times and restructuring?  Is MONEY and GREED the driving factor? Why are carriers scanning each package by hand when others have advanced systems? Why have they not updated their systems? Why is the Union not being a VOICE for these letter carriers?  Why does my husband have to run out of gas on his route and use his own money to put gas in his vehicle?  

WHY ARE THESE EMPLOYEES NOT CARED FOR BY ANYBODY?

WHY? WHY?? WHY??
WHO is their voice?
WHO cares about the letter carrier?
WHO is willing to speak out to help make a CHANGE?

ONE SIMPLE CHANGE IS A FIVE-DAY WORKWEEK
A five-day workweek would do wonders; it would give the carriers two days off in a row to rest their bodies, regroup, replenish their minds, and enjoy their families and life overall, and then come back to work their 10- to 12-hour days refreshed, with their usual smile on their faces.  A five-day work week would help the budget too; it's a win-win solution!!!

During COVID most of us have had to slow down, work remotely, find a little sense of importance in our own personal lives, amid the tragedy of COVID we've ALL been experiencing, but NOT the letter carriers; they’ve never had a break from day one!  They are actually working harder than ever, with no relief in sight!  Management has done nothing to correct the problem, as of to date!  Something has to give, and it shouldn't be the health and well-being of our amazing letter carriers out there on the streets day in and day out!

I say it’s TIME we SPEAK UP for them, our friendly, jolly mail carriers that brighten our days every day!  Because behind those smiles are abused men and women who want balance in their work life, and to enjoy their families, and to be able to retire one day in one piece!
