Salley Jewell has broken the law and public trust by allowing the wild horses to be slaughtered and their herds decimated. The Wild and Free-Roaming Horses and Burros Act of 1971 charged the Secretary of the interior with the management and care of these majestic animals. Through her mismanagement of the Bureau of Land Management and the US Forestry Service, she has allowed the herds to be decimated almost to the point where they will be unable to recover. Even against the advice of the board assigned to advise the Bureau of Land Management In the care of these animals. She has failed to uphold the letter of the law or the spirit of the law. Now we face losing this national historic treasure. Therefore we request the immediate resignation of the Secretary of the Interior for malfeasance and failures to comply with the law.
