Big cats are commonly owned across the us and many people don't take care of them properly. Whether they give the animals an unsuitable diet or are abusing, inbreeding and harming their animals there will always be an issue, unless we do something about it. 

Members of the public pay to see abused animals (e.g White Tigers and Hybrids), and are lied to about what the breeders are doing. These people don't help with conservation and are usually harming the eco system.

In most states it's not hard to get a license to own these animals, and I believe it should be more difficult than it currently is, and properties should be inspected often.
