Stopping Childhood Obesity

Childhood obesity is a problem that impacts over 3 million US children in a year.  It can lead to diabetes, high blood pressure, and high cholesterol.  According to Mayo Clinic, it is generally self-treatable, but many of the obese children refuse to make changes in their diet, which might lead to an unhealthier life in their adulthood.  This is generally because of the shortage of shops that sell healthy and fresh food.  Also, a reduced price for healthier alternatives might make it easier to access healthy food, making eating fast food less tempting.  Creating federal programs to help stop this crisis will definitely benefit the United States and set an example for other countries.
