People on SSI live way below poverty level, barely getting by and people expect us just to be okay with the way things are. Me and my family have been suffering for years. Just a little increase could change a lot, by affording clothes when we need them, better apartments, vehicles or even be able to afford public transportation! 

I can’t tell you how hard it is to look at someone and say “ sorry I can’t I’m trying to catch up on last months bills”. Or look at friends and say “ I wish I could go out but it’s too cold and I haven’t been able to afford a new jacket yet”. Or to even just be able to have a hobby. You don’t have the funds to have hobbies. Like painting, or reading(normal books), going to the gym, etc. 

You don’t have the money togo out during the the summer and do fun things like go to the pool, go to carnivals to watch fireworks and ride rides, go camping with friends, go fishing. And the hardest thing yet. You don’t have enough money to visit family. Living underneath everyone is so hard.
