Repeal the Debt Collection Improvement Act of 1996, Stop Government Abuse of Power

The Issue

My name is Mike Wells. I am 65 years old, a Marine Corps vet and I want to tell you about how the U.S Government is unjustly garnishing the wages, Social Security benefits and Federal Income Tax refunds of Americans.

Every year, Armed by the Administrative Procedures Act (APA), the Debt Collection Act of 1982 (DCA) and the Debt Collection Improvement Act of 1996 (DCIA); the US Government employs the Treasury Offset Program (TOP) and Administrative Wage Garnishment (AWG) to confiscate more than $300 Billion Dollars from 50 million plus Americans, all of this without any Due Process, without any Court Orders and in direct violation of the 5th Amendment to the US Constitution.

Most of the alleged debtors do owe the US Government the money and they are, in fact, delinquent on those debts. But, experts such as the Heritage Foundation, the Southern Poverty Law Center and Judicial Watch believe as many as 10% or 5 million of the alleged debtors don't owe the US Government a single penny.

Washington DC is aware of this injustice but is in love with the hundreds of billions of dollars it is forcefully seizing. Washington DC believes the 5 million innocent victims every year is a small price to pay for the enormous financial bounty it is unjustly realizing.

I'm one of the 5 million innocent victims and I'm mad as hell. If you are a current or past victim of this injustice, or, if you support our cause, please join me in this petition toward Restoring the 5th Amendment to the US Constitution and Stopping Abuse of Power by the US Government.
