Mark Eugene Amodei is an American lawyer and politician who has been serving as the U.S. Representative for Nevada's 2nd congressional district since 2011. Born in 1958, Amodei is the sole Republican in Nevada's congressional delegation since 2019. He has an extensive political background, having served in the Nevada Assembly from 1997 to 1999 and in the Nevada State Senate from 1999 to 2011, where he was president pro tempore from 2003 to 2005. Amodei also has military experience as a member of the Judge Advocate General's Corps, United States Army from 1984 to 1987. He holds a law degree and is affiliated with the Republican Party, representing Nevada's interests in Congress for over a decade.
