To all who read this update, within 72 hours, I am close to announcing my second petition goal of 200 names! With 2000 views!, and the petition has been shared 36 times and counting. However, those are the current statistics of my global petition. People with Cerebral Palsy are not just a set of statistics they need to be counted.
There have been mixed reviews about all that I have done this month to calm my own frustrations about lack of federal government funding and lack of sufficient medical care and support for those 18 and over in the adult community. I want you all to know that we as a group of women in a support group online, voted on the idea to start an adult petition. The support group is a global one, so my petition is being viewed by a global audience.
I know getting one emailed update daily can be bothersome, but adults with Cerebral Palsy deserve equal recognition because pediatric populations grow into adults who change society with their own global talents and experiences. My Petition idea was my own. However, when I was linked to yet another Petition i decided to take action. Please go to the following pediatric petition that inspired my own. https://www.change.org/p/president-of-the-united-states-let-s-get-the-white-house-to-light-up-green-on-national-cerebral-palsy-awareness-day
A boy named Flynn looks like he will gather enough signatures to shine the White House green at sunset. This Thursday March 25th 2021 to let the United States and the world know that all ages with Cerebral Palsy need to have an equal chance at future funding and improved quality of life. Fylnn's story is something to marvel at. The petition for adults i created can be signed by ages 16 and over to get my message across the globe. The White House might have green lights on Thursday.
I celebrate Flynn and his upcoming achievement of names to reach his goal. It makes sense to have an adult petition for adults with Cerebral Palsy and yet, this is my first ever petition for a cause. What you are reading and signing and sharing has never been achieved globally. Cerebral Palsy Awareness does not stop on April 1st 2021. I know. I live with Cerebral Palsy on a daily basis. 24/7 365 days a year. Today is day four of my campaign to create "the needed change in the world." Will you join me? Thank you to those supporters who have already signed. You are seen. You are heard. You are not just a statistic in our global society. My best wishes globally, Liz Curry
