January 6th and 7th are Christmas Eve and Christmas Day for Coptic Orthodox Christian followers. Every year, students are forced to take this day off as a personal sick day from school which results in them unfairly losing school time because of a religious observance. It is unfair to have to choose between school or religion, especially when people of other faiths are granted holidays.
