22 veterans/ soldiers a day. We are overworked and the numbers and facts show it. A usual work day for the Army is 0600-1700. 11+ hours we spend away from our families, children, and friends. We can’t get away from work to better ourselves and bond with or take care of our families and homes. It’s taking a toll on us physically and clearly mentally. It has been shown by many businesses that switching to 4 day work week has increased productivity, happier employees (meaning more soldier loyalty), and decreased our carbon footprint. New Zealand reported stress of employees went from 45% down to 32%.

Now, why should SMA change the Army to a 4 day work week?
1. Happier soldier (possibly meaning decreased suicide rates)

2. Retention rates may possibly increase

3.Gives us adequate time to mentally and physically recoup from the work week.

4. Give us more time to be with our families. Army always preaches how family oriented they are.

5. We already have 1/2(half)+- workdays on Fridays. So why not just eliminate it all together?
