We have made progress; Thank you
Feb 20, 2015 — From Ann's brother, Ken Patton:
Yesterday, my sister Ann Maxine Patton was released from prison in Costa Rica after nine months of incarceration for a crime she did not commit. This is not over by a long ways yet. All we know for now is that in addition to ordering her immediate release yesterday, the Costa Rican appellate court has ordered a third trial, likely since the second trial in May 2014 in Perez Zeledon was so clearly corrupted. That second trial resulted in her conviction for premeditated homicide and a subsequent 22 year sentence, which clearly had no legal merit as this trial was a complete theatre of lies by the prosecution and perjury by state employees posing as "credible" prosecution forensic experts.
This is all about money. If it wasn't for the large sum of money and assets, Ann would not even be charged. Ann is not permitted to leave CR once again, but is "free" to remain in the country while the battle continues.
Ann is an innocent person who absolutely did not murder her husband. She could not harm a fly. Meanwhile none of Ann's assets are titled in her name and the individual primarily responsible for this abortion of justice, Juan de Dios Alvarez, has fled to Nicaragua where he remains a free man. There is no doubt he bribed several parties in this country to pave the way for Ann to be framed for murdering her husband. His intent was for her to die in prison given her health problems so he could steal all of her wealth and pay off all of his associates in and outside of Costa Rica who aided him in this smash and grab scheme.
As of today, Ann has limited funds to continue funding a legal defense since all of the assets held for her in a Costa Rican trust remain stolen.
This is not over.
