In their season premiere, "Paradise Lost", which aired this past Saturday night, CBS's 48Hours largely concludes that based on forensic evidence presented by the Costa Rican prosecution, Ann Bender did not murder her husband and that it is very arguable that there was in fact a struggle for the gun and it accidentally discharged. Forensic experts Selma and Richard Eikelenboom also point out that John Bender's body was probably moved between the moment he died and the time that "crime" scene photos were taken. In short, Ann was arbitrarily sentenced to 22 years in prison for premeditated murder without any reasonable evidence to support this conviction, not even a reasonable "crime" scene reconstruction. It took CBS to bring in reputable and credible experts to expose this injustice. This episode of 48Hours was watched by over 5.5 million viewers and can be seen again here: Paradise Lost http://www.cbsnews.com/videos/paradise-lost
