The University of North Dakota has one of the most storied legacies in college hockey. For the last several years North Dakota's women's hockey team has been moving up in conference and national rankings, finishing inside the nations top twenty women's teams consistently, with the team finishing 14th in the nation in 2017. Yet on March 29th, 2017, the University of North Dakota administration elected to cut the women's hockey program with little to no warning to coaches, players, or other staff members. In keeping with the proud hockey tradition of the school, playing in the house that Ralph Engelstad built, the University of North Dakota should reinstate the women's hockey program here at our great institution in this era of progressiveness for the great sport of women's hockey in the United States.
