This is urgent. The Hamas terrorist organization has used a complicated real estate dispute involving rent payments owed by 4 families to start a massive campaign of violence that could lead to a full-blown war.

As we speak, Hamas is indiscriminately firing rockets into civilian populations and pushing out propaganda to the terrified people of the West Bank and Gaza encouraging them to rise up and kill Jews. These horrific acts have nothing to do with Sheikh Jarrah or prayer rights in Jerusalem. This is Hamas trying to flex its muscles and show off their ability to inflict pain and suffering on their enemies ahead of the upcoming Palestinian parliamentary elections.

The Palestinian Authority’s longtime dictator Mahmoud Abbas recently announced that the vote - the first opportunity for Palestinians to elect their leaders in 15 years - would be postponed indefinitely. Clearly, Hamas sees an opportunity to project strength and make him look weak - all while innocent Jews, Muslims, and Christians pay the price in blood.

Hamas has fired hundreds of rockets into highly populated areas with the sole intention of killing at random. Targeting civilians is a war crime and this brutish form of terrorism cannot be tolerated under any circumstances. About one-third of the missiles fired by Hamas do not actually reach their targets in Israel, instead crashing down within Gaza to kill and maim innocent Palestinians.

As if actual rocket-fired explosives weren’t enough, Hamas is also spreading lies on social media and through radio and TV channels trying to persuade young people to violently demonstrate in Jerusalem. Those who internalized Hamas’ messages of violence began hurling rocks and Molotov cocktails during the holiest night in Ramadan while innocent citizens were praying nearby. 18 Israeli policemen and 62 Palestinians were wounded in these clashes instigated by Hamas provocateurs.

This situation is evolving rapidly and could easily escalate into a war, with devastating consequences for everyone involved. We cannot let them get away with this.
