In 1972, the ERA was approved by Congress but fell just three states short of ratification. Remarkably, by 2020 the required number of states ratified the ERA, yet its publishing has been halted due to an arbitrary deadline. By publishing the ERA, President Biden can offer a path towards embedding gender equality into our Constitution. This act stands to affect not just women, but every American, uplifting the country in its entirety towards a more equitable future.
