American Corporate Revenue Streams Run Red with the Blood of Tortured Dogs and Cats in China

Citizens of the United States should boycott American companies in China who do not lift a finger to stop the torture and massacre of dogs and cats for the dog/cat meat trade. Especially , the Yulin Dog Massacre Festival every June 21. Please call or write your congressional member and tell them that the American Chamber of Commerce in China and American companies should stop counting their profits from China and use their financial influence to stop this horror.

 Check out the profits these US Companies  make from China. Qual Comm made 66 percent of it's earnings from China alone! (Micron 57percent , Wynn Resorts 75 percent, etc)

Financial Highlights for US Companies in China;

While the companies above certainly reflect robust earnings, it is the percentage of what they take in from China alone that is amazing. Other mega corporations such as; Apple, Amazon, Starbucks, Boeing, GM, Caterpillar and Nike generate staggering profits. In most cases however, despite their enormous earnings, Chinese operations for them, do not exceed 25% of their total revenues.
Perhaps the time has come to have a dialogue about an “Animal Welfare Tax” as a price for doing business in these countries. The proceeds of which could be utilized to assist the most successful  animal welfare groups fighting the dog/cat trade. While the companies above certainly reflect robust earnings, it is the percentage of what they take in from China alone that is amazing. Other well-known mega corporations such as; Apple, Amazon, Starbucks, Boeing, GM, Caterpillar and Nike generate staggering profits. In most cases however, despite their enormous earnings, Chinese operations for them, do not exceed 25% of their total revenues. Here are just 2 examples;
                                        Apple;
                                         CEO Tim Cook reported on 1/28/2021 that Apple's  first quarters revenues from just China   were $21.3 billion, 2021                                                    second quarter $17. 7 billion from  China. By the end of 2021 Apple had 23 percent of China's IPhone Market

                                  Starbucks;

In China, Starbucks serves a record 6.4 million customers a week and plans to open 6000 stores across 230 cities by the end of fiscal 2022, making China their fastest growing market

Starbucks says aims to triple China revenues by 2022
Starbucks plans to invest $130 million US dollars through 2022

Starbucks writes a Global Social Impact Report;
 "\We believe in the pursuit of doing good”
“Since we entered the mainland China market, we intend to serve the community, and enforce social responsibility programs"
What a crock! Not one word , about stopping the torture of dogs and cats
It  also has a” Match the Magic Campaign" .Ironically, in its “Match the Magic Campaign” one of the charities it donated to was the Wildlife Conservation Fund.

                                          Seems like it' s time to boycott these companies!

American Chamber of Commerce(Amcham) friend or foe of the Dog/Cat Meat Trade Overseas? The phrase "Bystander Effect" is one used by mental health professionals. For most Americans old enough to remember, it conjures up the image of Kitty Genovese being brutally murdered in front of her apartment while her neighbors all watched and did nothing. Currently, U.S and Korean Multinationals are prospering greatly in the countries where the torture and massacre of dogs and cats occur. Yet, like the neighbors of Ms. Genovese in 1964, they do not lift a finger to help; despite the fact that the whole world looks on with horror and outrage. At what point does corporate greed displace basic humanity.? Does the pursuit of profits at some point "dehumanize " these members of the American/Korean corporate community and Amcham? Can they not see how the animal welfare groups on the ground battle this evil daily on a shoestring budget? (A list of of animal welfare groups fighting the Dog/Cat Meat trade is listed below.)The American Corporations that belong to Amcham (Overseas affiliates of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce) suffer from the "Bystander Effect" in the torture and slaughter of dogs and cats in the countries that engage in the dog/cat meat trade. Amcham has chapters in all the countries engaged in the dog and cat meat tradeAmcham China and Amcham Shanghai each have well over 3000 corporate members. Amcham Korea has over 1500 members. In the states, GDKACC(Greater Dallas Korean America Chamber of Commerce) has over 1,000 businesses in the Dallas area. Austen,Texas will also be the future home for Samsung's 17 billion dollar semiconductor plant.Why aren't members of Congress who interact with Amcham encouraging the American Multinationals to use their influence to end the brutal dog/cat meat trades?Just recently, in November 2021, Senator Jon Ossoff, (D- Ga.)was in South Korea attending an Amcham meeting to strengthen ties with American and South Korean companies. Why can't such meeting add the topic of the barbaric dog meat trade to the agenda? Georgia already has extensive South Korean corporations invested in the state. Gwinnet, Georgia is referred to as the" Seoul of the South" and has over 100,000 residents of South Korean descent."There are at least 24 Georgia companies with operations in South Korea, and the state is home to 113 Korean facilities that employ more than 9,000 Georgians"(Atlantic Journal-Constitution , June 20,2019)Georgia also has numerous Korean trade and professional organizations; the Korean Southeast United States Chamber of Commerce, Korean-American Chamber of Commerce, Korean-American Scientists and Engineers Association and the Korean American Coalition. Why then, are they not joining in the fight to end the heinous dogmeat trade in South Korea? In Uljin and Samcheok area, there are numerous dog farms and dog slaughterhouses. "On March 4,2022, a forest fire caused inhabitants of Uljin to flee, but left hundreds of dogs and puppies imprisoned in their cages at dog meat farms to be burned to death The dogs at this farm were barely alive, clinging to life after being badly burned. They are enduring unimaginable pain but are still licking each other’s wounds. Dosa puppies, probably not even 6 months old, bred as meat, were seriously injured in the wildfire that spread to their cages. Adult dogs were charred to death in the next cage or suffocated to death from inhaling smoke.In horror and pain, starving, injured sibling dogs endured pain by licking each other." (ABC News March 4, 2022)Yet here we are in the United States, focused on encouraging better economic ties to South Korea. Why? Perhaps we should boycott these companies operating within Amcham in South Korea. Or the many South Korean companies here in the USA(mostly in the states of Georgia and Texas)Georgia is home to many Korean Companies; LG, KIA, POSCO, Hyundai, CJ Logistics, Samsung Electric, Trek, Freelux Lighting, Branson Machinery, Pacific Global Logistics (to name a few)U.S. Companies that do business in South Korea; AFC Enterprises, ARRIS Group, Inc. CP Kelco ,Delta Air, Halyard Health ,Newell Rubbermaid, Novelis , TCoca-Cola ,UPS ,UPS Supply Chain Solutions ( to name a few)All these companies should be publicly humiliatedWhy doesn't Amcham Korea or GDKACC at least put a percentage of revenues toward animal welfare advocates trying to end the South Korean dog farms, slaughter houses and the BARBARIC and twisted Boknal Dog Massacre Festival every summer? Please call and leave messages on the voicemails for the members of Congress and Corporate Contacts listed below. Contact info is listed below. Email or call and tell them;" Please use your influence and tell these corporations to take a stand against Dog Meat Farms, Dog and Cat meat Markets and the Barbaric Boknal Festival. As voters and consumers, we are appalled at the lack of action by both U.S. and Korean Companies. Don't underestimate the power of social media and Americans willingness to boycott or publicly shame companies in the face of barbaric animal cruelty"Civilized societies love their fellow creatures; they don't torture them. Just look at the daily news of the besieged Ukrainians.Heroic, amazing people dodging shells, missiles and bombs; and in multiple photos of them fleeing to safety, you will note that despite personal danger, they are protecting and taking their pets with them. What is wrong with the members of Amcham Korea, the Korean companies here in Georgia, and GDKACC in Dallas? Oh , right, it is the "Bystander Effect" Do nothing in the face of suffering and barbaric cruelty to the helpless.Ukrainian servicemen help a woman carrying a small dog cross the Irpin river on an improvised path under a bridge, that was destroyed by Ukrainian troops designed to slow any Russian military advance, while assisting people fleeing the town of Irpin, Ukraine, Saturday, March 5, 2022.
