Bernard N. Barr Request for Mercy To President Obama

The Issue

Dear President Obama,

Bernard Barr is currently incarcerated and has served eight (8) years of his thirty (30) year sentence in Federal Penitentiaries. It's hard to even imagine someone being away from society, from family, from freedom, for 30 long years!

He has missed many milestones during this time and has used much of this time to reflect on his past, present, and future. He had a great upbringing, close with immediate and extended family. A great student, most would consider him to be very smart. As an adult, he was, and still is, a father first. Life gave him choices, he made decisions, and now he is dealing with the consequences. Many of us notices his regret and remorse from those decisions he has made. It has taken his great upbringing, his smartness, and one who sincerely cherishes his loved ones, to understand his wrong-doings, not this 30 year sentence!  So therefore, without the ability to re-write history, we are asking that Bernard is granted a second chance.

Although he is away, he will never be forgotten and we're hoping that he will be one of the ones who has their sentence commuted by you, President Obama.

As family and friends, we are willing to join in the efforts of a strong continuing support for Bernard so that he may re-enter society, not just as an law- abiding citizen, but also as a productive and outstanding influence in the community.

With that being said, his Family and Friends, is showing our support to the Office of Pardons by signing this petition. It shows we all believe that these eight (8) years he has received thus far is sufficient punishment. For those who are religious and/or community leaders, their signature signifies their beliefs of forgiveness and faith supports his possible commutation.

At this moment, we all are claiming, in Jesus name, that Bernard Novell Barr, will be returning home soon to all of us. That he will be the man that God intended him to be while free again, and that this will serve hope to other men and women still behind bars.

Thanks For Your Time and Consideration regarding this matter.

From All of Bernard N. Barr's loved ones and supporters.
