Petition updatePreserve the Status and Recognition of Senior Accredited NCPS and BACP MembersIs the Temporary Accreditation Mechanism a capitulation of our protest?

Now that the temporary re-accreditation mechanism is available to all seniors holding a valid level 7 qualification, is it not a capitulation of the very principle of our protest if members enter that process?

It occurs to us that BACP will think that revoking our accreditation was perfectly okay because we are playing ball by re-applying to get our license back!

Would it be worthwhile that each level 7 senior reflects on the temptation to apply and perhaps refrains from doing so until our protest has achieved the recognition that we are jointly seeking?

After all, next year it could be level 8 and we’re asked to reapply again!

We are protesting against the whole principle of revoking an earned and paid for status and we let ourselves down if we capitulate now.

An even stronger message would be given to BACP if any members that have entered the temporary route were to formally withdraw their applications!

This question has made us aware that there is no data indicating how many seniors hold a level 7 qualification and how many do not.

Please take a minute to help us survey the 1,200 members in our group by leaving a simple message on our website at:

Click on Contact in the Menu and simply state either:

Yes, I have level 7 or No, I don’t have level 7

That will help us identify the proportion of seniors with and without.

While sending that message can each member also add a comment as to whether, or not, you would like us to set up a WhatsApp group so that more comments and feedback can be shared; this would help make our group more democratic.
