I wanted to thank Supervisor Jimenez for engaging in meaningful conversation with community members regarding our concerns over FCPA's handling of the pickleball courts at Kendale Woods. Many of us left the conversation feeling that Jimenez listened and understood the importance of what we have been fighting for. The next step is setting up a true community meeting with Jimenez's office and FCPA.

The big question of why FCPA's pickleball guidelines were not followed at Kendale Woods Park still looms. Another big question is the stance that it is unethical to make one person who doesn't want to listen to pickleball noise do so. A one-person stance is a slippery slope, and many people are concerned about that, not only for pickleball but in general.  Additionally, the noise from pickleball is problematic when the decibels are above noise ordinance levels. The decibel level and pitch is what makes Cole state, 'pickleball noise is a thing, everyone knows it's a thing.'  Many sound studies done on pickleball have been done in places with multiple courts.  A sound study of our one court in the middle of the woods needs to be done to see if the noise is, in fact, above acceptable levels, if not than it's actually 'not a thing'. We have noise ordinances so one person can't shut down something based on not liking it, which seems to be happening here.

Also, here's an article regarding our courts from a pickleball publication that many of you might not have seen.  fairfax-park-authority-removes-pickleball-courts-amid-protests
