I am a resident of Fordington, Dorchester, community is disgusted The newly built wall at one stop is at risk of being torn down. This wall Being forced to be Demolished would mean adding unnecessary waste to our landfills, which are already overburdened. According to the Environmental Protection Agency, construction and demolition debris accounted for over 600 million tons of waste in 2018 alone. 

Not only is it an environmental concern, dismantling it is a costly process. This expenditure could be averted, saving The owner and our council valuable resources that could be utilized for other pressing community needs. In a time when budget cuts are prevalent, it seems counterproductive to spend money on unnecessary demolition.

Our council should opt for preservation and conservation, not destruction. Help us to save The newly built Fordington wall and  protecting the environment and saving our council funds. Please sign this petition to voice your support.
