The Industrial Hub has served as a haven for vulnerable adults with learning disabilities for decades, equipping them with valuable work skills and a sense of belonging. The hub has been a fixture in the lives of these individuals, some of whom have been regular attendees for over 30 years. Beyond teaching practical skills, the hub provides them a supportive environment where the staff and fellow attendees have become an extended family. The hub provides these vulnerable adults with a sense of employment. They would not only lose their community but also their jobs. For some, this hub is the only family or support system they have. The benefit of such community involvement and learned skills for individuals with learning disabilities is extensively documented, helping to improve their quality of life, self-efficacy, and social skills. We cannot let this vital service vanish, there is no other  service like it in Peterborough.
