Preserve the Historic Cooch's Bridge in Newark, DE
The Issue
My family has lived in Cooch’s Bridge Farms for almost five decades. I grew up playing and fishing in those woods and area, and now my children do the same. The bridge is a part of our history and is the whole reason our neighborhood has its name.
Cooch's Bridge isn't just a bridge; it's an integral part of our community fabric. It stands as a testament to Newark's rich history, serving as a constant reminder of where we come from. However, this cherished landmark is under threat.
Our plea is simple: preserve Cooch’s Bridge. We believe that preserving this historic site will not only honor our past but also ensure that future generations can enjoy its beauty and learn from its story.
We urge local authorities to recognize the cultural significance of Cooch’s Bridge by granting it protected status or investing in its maintenance. By doing so, we can ensure that this piece of Newark heritage continues to enrich our community for years to come.
Please sign this petition if you agree that preserving Cooch’s Bridge should be a priority for Newark, DE residents like us who value their local history and want to see it preserved for future generations. Deldot doesn’t care about it & they don’t have to deal with all the added traffic it will bring.
