Aloha,
This photo shows BYUH's digital rendition of how the "significant portions" of the McKay Mosaic will be "preserved". The digital McKay Mosaic shows unintelligible blocks. The Pledge of Allegiance is removed.
It's becoming obvious that President Kau’we plans to insert his own PERSONAL history in the new BYU-Hawaii narrative - - - through marginalizing and tearing down the McKay Mosaic and Foyer.
President Kau’we publicly refers to those who dare to question his "kuleana" as political “extremists”. The atmosphere on campus is described as "toxic", "oppressive" and "retaliatory". Faculty and staff members are walking on egg-shells as they have to deal with an administration with a very rigid political mindset. Those who profess support for their new agenda are safe from retaliation or reproach. ā'u-we!!
Do Your Part. Please send your concerns directly to President Russell M. Nelson and respectfully and sincerely explain your concerns about this situation. President Russell M. Nelson, 60 N Temple, Salt Lake City, Utah, 84150, USA.
