In the humble neighborhood of Lake Arrowhead, CA, an incredible transformation has taken place. A once plain, graffiti-tagged white brick wall on my property has been reborn as a vibrant canvas of nature-inspired art. As an individual who has triumphed over mental health issues with the help of art, I'm personally anchored to the spiritual upliftment it provides. The therapeutic quality of art is well understood and is even used in mental health rehabilitation programs across the globe.

The mural, a beautiful Blue Jay spreading its wings, amongst branches and leaves, has proven an uplifting sight for many of our neighbors, fostering smiles, and spurring compliments. However, despite the wave of positivity this artistic endeavor has invoked, a recent letter stated that several complaints have been lodged and the mural must be painted over. 

We appeal to our community's sense of unity and artistic appreciation. According to the American Arts and Economic Prosperity report, arts and culture are vital contributors to community development, fostering connections and contributing to be a nation's culture, then why should ours be stripped away?

Art can evoke emotion, inspire creativity, and provide a sense of community. We must not allow the expressive culture of Lake Arrowhead to be censored. Instead, we should encourage it. This petition will serve as a testament to our communal desire to preserve the mural and prevent it from being painted over.

We urge the local council to reconsider their decision and value the community's spirit and love for art. Let's not just preserve the Blue Jay mural but make room for art to flourish in every corner of Lake Arrowhead. Please sign this petition and stand in solidarity with this cause.
