If Maralinga PS land gets sold how will schools be able to be built as there is no land big enough?

This article just shows how weak our Council is "For example, Greater Dandenong has called for 20 per cent of the proposed Sandown Racecourse redevelopment’s 7500 homes to be affordable.
Without mandatory targets, the Sandown proponents have offered 5 per cent" The cross examination was actually asking for 10% of housing on Sandown and maybe having it all in one precinct.
Every available site is being targeted for either Inclusional Housing or Affordable housing and yet unsuspecting buyers will not be told or realise that they are buying next to "socïal" housing.
All these terms have different meanings -community, social ,affordable and no proponent wants to explain exactly how many will be built in an estate or what these terms actually mean.
The other galling statement is "The council also called for mandatory tree canopy benchmarks for developments.
“Currently (tree canopy) is taking too long to grow and/or struggles to establish.”
“The previous figure of 30 per cent canopy coverage for the southern region is not aspirational and a target date of 2050 is too late.”
If council didn't allow developers to cut down so many trees and allowing the developer of 51 A Douglas St to suggest paying the measly sum $155K for a PRICELESS heritage tree and if 2300 saplings were properly nurtured at Spring Valley Reserve they may have survived helping uis reach our 30% tree canopy coverage.
Excuses, excuses is all we hear and when push comes to shove Council rolls over on every issue !
