Preserve Protected Significant Urban Vegetation in Long Pocket, Queensland

Preserve Protected Significant Urban Vegetation in Long Pocket, Queensland
The issue
PETITION to the Lord Mayor Adrian Schrinner and Councillor Penny Wolff
A housing development application for 32 and 50 Meiers Road Indooroopilly (Long Pocket) proposes removing most of the existing vegetation on the site, including over 100 trees currently protected as Significant Urban Vegetation.
We are deeply concerned about the considerable loss of trees and birdlife, and the consequent detrimental impact on the 'green and leafy' character of the district.
The trees on this site are not only part of Long Pocket's heritage but also serve as vital ecological resources, providing shelter, sustenance, and habitat for local wildlife. We believe losing these trees will have long-term environmental and community impacts.
Please join us in calling on the Brisbane City Council to act decisively to protect the natural values of this site for future generations by signing this petition.
