A photo sent in of a construction site in Stamford. Looks like their delvelopers can afford to do it right but NOT ours.

We need to know more about how this permit was approved by our Building Department after so many public meetings/ plans submitted with “stone”references and a zoning board honestly believing their good hard work was giving our Town the best outcome possible. Both materials AND height need to be looked into. 

Going forward we like other Towns need better regulations to protect ourselves from such materials being used.  We cannot afford such mistakes in the future and retain the quality and character of our Town. One suggestion that came out of this event was the establishing of a non binding Architectural Review Board. It would have prevented this. We need to do better. We must THINK about ways as a Town to get BETTER RESULTS. We as Newcanaanites have been handed a beautiful Town that many generations before us worked HARD to create. Many many today are also engaged in this very Important work. We understand it is our job to leave the next generation something as good or better than we found. We have all failed at this moment with this wall. We must do better.
