Petition Update: We’ve Asked. Now We Wait.
Following recent reports of JTA’s financial challenges—including a $14.2M budget gap, furloughs, and fare increases—residents have begun asking important questions about priorities and transparency.
Formal requests have now been submitted to JTA leadership seeking clarity on:
The total cost of the Mandarin Road project
Whether federal funding fully covers that cost
And if not, how any shortfall would be addressed
These are reasonable questions—especially given current financial conditions.
Over 3,300 residents have already voiced concerns about:
Environmental impact
Lack of meaningful engagement
And the need to explore less invasive alternatives
At this point, the community is simply asking for clear, transparent answers before further decisions are made.
Bottom line
If public funds are involved,
the public deserves clarity.
Call to action
As we await responses, we encourage residents to stay informed, engaged, and continue sharing their voice.
