Update: JTA Has Not Complied with Florida Statute 119 Regarding Public Records for Sidewalk extension from Red cypress anti walter jones along Mandarin protected ordinance road

Despite a formal public records request made under Florida Statute 119, the Jacksonville Transportation Authority (JTA) has not provided the sidewalk survey or supporting documentation related to the proposed sidewalk extension from Red Cypress Drive to Walter Jones Historical Park. The survey was conducted in On or around  late Fall 2024 and and is critical to understanding the scope and impact of the project

As of today, May 5, 2025, there is no valid reason for this delay — JTA must have the survey by now. With the community meeting scheduled for May 14, 2025, it is imperative that JTA arrive fully prepared with the complete survey and all supporting documentation. But we the public have a right to see them in advance of May 14 , 2025.  Continued failure to provide these public records not only violates Florida Statute 119 but also undermines public trust and prevents meaningful community input.
