Preserve Legacy Park Land in Roblin, Manitoba

Preserve Legacy Park Land in Roblin, Manitoba
The Issue
As a lifelong resident of Roblin and a parent raising children here, The Roblin Playgrounds Revitalization Project holds immense personal significance to me. Our community has been tirelessly fundraising for two years to breathe new life into Lions Park and The Legacy Park. However, we've recently learned that our Municipality Council has listed the greenspace next to Legacy Park for sale. That land used to in fact; be a key part of the playground housing many structures for play – and was a space we intended to use for expanding the park once our fundraising goals were met.
The Park was opened on September 1st, 1972 and was originated by the Mark 69 Park Project. In 2001 The Children’s Legacy Park Committee members decided to refurbish the Mark 69 Park. It is then, several items were installed in memory of the children of the past, for the children of the present and for the children of the future.
Legacy Park is more than just a playground; it's a cherished part of our community. It's the only playground accessible to families living on the North side of town without having to cross a major rail line as well as crossing Highway 5 or Highway 83. This park holds countless memories for many in our community and promises many more if allowed its rightful chance to grow.
We urge you all - residents, friends of Roblin, lovers of green spaces - help us save this precious "ParkLand". Let us show our Municipality Council that we value these shared spaces and want them preserved for future generations. Please sign this petition urging them not only to remove these lots from sale but also to support our efforts towards expanding Legacy Park as originally planned. Together, let us ensure that Legacy Park remains exactly that – a legacy left behind for future generations in Roblin!
