Good Morning, first I would like to say THANK YOU to everyone who is signed and shared the petition so far. It has been amazing to see the support. I have kept my Grandfather updated and he has been so thankful at the show of love for his art. My father and I did a news story with kiii on Friday highlighting the petition and our goal of saving both pieces of art. Watch it here:
CCISD has said they plan on saving the large tiger mural on the Tiger Ln side of the school, they have no plans on saving the tiger mural that sits atop of the entrance of the school on the Weber Rd side, siting cost as a factor in not saving it.
While we are grateful for the plan for preservation of one mosaic, our goal has always been to save both. Despite emails to the President and Vice President of the school board, as well as to the Mayor, we have not had any responses or communication with CCISD regarding my grandfathers work. We will continue to push and request for responses to find a way to save both pieces of art. But we still need your help! The more signatures we get, the more CCISD can't deny the will of the people is to preserve art, not demolish it.
