The Issue

Bass Lake park and campground: Enjoyed by families for generations as a beautiful summer destination, going back to the 30's and 40's. The crystal clear water, the beautiful campground make it the perfect summer destination. The Kiwanis Club of Cobalt ran the park for years as a viable park. Whenever the park needed upgrades they willingly provided them because they felt investing in the park was worthwhile. Balance sheets don't tell the true story of the park, which has been enjoyed by Coleman, Cobalt, Latchford, Temagami, Temiskaming Shores and Quebec residents. The parks meant a great deal to families back then and it still does today.

Please sign the petition asking Coleman Township to invest in the park and campground as Temiskaming's most beloved natural places. Since COVID people are seeking out parks and beaches more than ever for health and wellbeing. Changes to the way the park is being managed must be completely vetted with caution. Coleman Township was entrusted by the Kiwanis Club to be responsible stewards of the pristinely beautiful park, not destroyers of it. The Bass Lake park and campground is an important recreational gem in the region. The protection of Bass Lake park and campground is of great concern to campers and visitors alike.

Please sign the petition to advocate for the protection and continuation of the Bass Lake Park and campground. Join in and let Coleman Township know it is worthwhile to protect this natural ecosystem for the benefit of users of the park and future generations. Let's ensure the Bass Lake Park and campground remains a haven for those seeking nature's peace.

Thank you for your time!
