As a local to Kilcunda, seeing our historic viaduct bridge fall into disrepair over the past 20 years has been heart-wrenching. This bridge represents an integral part of our local history and heritage. However, Bass Coast Shire Council has neglected its responsibility to conserve the site and ultimately contributed to its severe deterioration. Now, the council plans to demolish it entirely. This is not just an affront to the local people but also a massive loss to the historic integrity of Kilcunda.

Instead of erasing it from our landscape, we demand the bridge to be restored.

We urge the Council to pursue the option of restoration. To not only preserve the bridge but also dedicate resources towards restoration of the surrounding vegetation, which is overrun with weeds. Let us work together to save our historic viaduct bridge – a vital part of our town's identity and history.
