Allen Morris Park to be Fenced Off Next Week

We got the dreaded news last week in a morning Brickell Homeowner’s Association breakfast meeting via County Commissioner Vicki Lopez: Allen Morris Park is going to be fenced off starting next week to be developed for “much-needed housing.” 

Lots of unanswered questions: What will happen to all the beautiful trees? Who is this housing for?

What happened to the restaurant concept built around the existing trees? Will the future luxury housing actually be called “Brickell Park Residences,” which would be incredibly distasteful given that the project will destroy a park?

There is a Zoom meeting with the county next Tuesday at noon in an attempt to get us answers to these questions. Please reach out if you’d like to attend and engage to get the details and transparency we deserve as a community.
