Rezoning of Allen Morris Park withdrawn!!

All:
I’m happy to report a piece of good news - according to Commissioner Higgins’ team, the move to rezone Allen Morris Park to a rapid transit zone (which would have put the park at risk of development) has been withdrawn and there are no plans to bring the agenda item back (at least from the District 5 team).
Regardless of this good news, please email our District 3 representatives with your thoughts and concerns about the future of Allen Morris Park!
Most of Brickell is in District 2 but the park falls in District 3. Our officials are going to tell you there are no plans to change the park, but this is a risk as long as the developer has it back in their hands. And as we saw, there was almost a motion to rezone it to a rapid transit zone for inevitable development (thank goodness it was removed from the agenda). The park can be moved to rezoned at any point, so we have to keep voicing our support regardless of what they tell us.
