I found both of these on the city website. I did not receive notification from the city via email or snail mail about the Vacation Home Rental advisory Council meetings or an update on the VHR complaint line..
(1) The city of 29 palms vacation home rental complaint line is a direct number to Code Enforcement. I found this on their webpage. I called expecting staff or a code enforcement officer to pick up. The phone rang seven times and I received an outgoing message. Don’t give up! After business hours, you can leave a message and follow up with a return phone call during business hours. What hours are they open? I’m assuming it’s 9 to 5 Monday through Thursday unless I hear otherwise. 760-362-6927
(2) The city of 29 palms vacation home rental advisory committee (AD HOC) have been meeting regularly. Apparently the public is invited to comment. Both myself and my neighbors are on the cities automated email list announcing meetings. We have not received an email alert about these meetings. I’m hoping this is an oversight and will be fixed soon. Please consider attending the meetings and voicing your opinion and suggestions on modifications for the outdated six year old vacation home rental code. We need some relief. Relief only comes when you are involved in your community. Stand up and speak out!
