Final Reply from City Manager Frank Luckino regarding VHR appeals

Preserve29Palms sent numerous emails to City Planning Manager Frank Luckino and the City Council regarding the status of the NEW appeal process. After 4 emails, we finally received an answer to our question, "If we cannot pay the $305 appeal fee, is there an option to send a letter to Staff or Council expressing our concerns?" I copy and pasted Mr. Luckino's final reply from City Manager Frank Luckino

"That is correct, if the appeal fee is not paid, then this will NOT go in front of the Council (he is referring to an appeal for a VHR.)

I know the clustering comments are heard by the Council, Planning Commission, and staff, however there is no restriction in the current code. But yes you can write a letter to staff or Council to put emphasis on this issue. The moratorium was NOT approved, so until the new code is written and approved, we (staff) will be operating under the current code. We will be forming the committee, hopefully by Wednesday, then scheduling meetings from there. I know there is a strong desire to have this process go as fast as possible."
