Its been my experience attending 99% of CC and CP VHR meetings in the last 1 1/2 years, that most people will leave before the VHR discussion. Scheduling important VHR meetings and discussions during the hottest month of the summer (August) when most people are on vacation has always been City Council's #1 tactic to reduce attendance.
Please attend the meeting and speak out in favor of an immediate Moratorium and limits on VHRs.
CC is considering adding a fee of $305 to the City Planning appeal process. They added a fee to the City Council appeal process months ago. Adding a fee to the CP appeal process, which is the first step in the appeal process will prevent most homeowners from filing an appeal. Another way to prevent the average working family/individual from exercising their rights. If adding an additional fee passes, the city will have complete control over the VHR approval process. It is my understanding from one of my inside sources that the CC sent invites to ALL VHR owners (both pending and current) and Real Estate Agents who sell property in 29 Palms.
