“After a decade of inaction, we can’t waste another minute.”
That was the message from the new Environment Minister Tanya Plibersek today as she released the confronting State of the Environment report, which shows wildlife habitat in Australia is in rapid decline.
It’s now indisputable that we must stop logging and burning our native forests.
The national report highlights just how little we know about the state of Tasmania’s environment as Tasmania’s last State of the Environment report was 13 years ago, and since then wide-spread environmental deregulation has occurred, while our forests continue to be logged and biodiversity is in rapid decline.
