Government logging agency Sustainable Timber Tasmania started logging Krushka's forests despite a formal legal letter noting that the plan developed failed to protect the habitat trees and seed trees referenced in the overview. Logging started in despite more than 200 tourism businesses writing to the Premier calling on him to halt these logging plans, and more than 33,000 people calling for Tasmania's native forests to be protected.
