There is a growing perception amongst football fans around the world that the Video Assisted Referee (VAR) system is taking away from the dynamic nature of football. An example of which is, the pause after goals scored where the fans and players alike pause their celebrations and stare at a screen waiting for VAR to allow the goal.

Moreover, in the premier league, there is a lack of transparency in who is making the call, especially as referees are not required to review the material/replays on the monitor.

In contrast to VAR, the TMO system used in rugby allows for a live debate between the referees, heard and viewed by all viewing fans and the final decision is made by the official on the pitch.

This petition is to request a full review of the way VAR is used, during premier league matches. Specifically focusing on bringing transparent reviews, for the viewers and fans, which can be heard and seen by the audience and ensuring the final decision is made only by the official on the pitch.
