Old Mill Terrace Residents' Association (OMTRA)Toronto, Canada
May 30, 2026

Dear Supporters,

Bill 23 is on the agenda for the next TTC Board meeting, Wednesday, June 3rd, at noon, and the public is invited to speak in person, or virtually! Please register as a deputant before June 2nd, noon (details below). Media and City councillors will be in attendance. You will have 5 minutes to speak, and your comments must relate to the agenda item 2026.TTC 15.16. https://secure.toronto.ca/council/agenda-item.do?item=2026.TTC15.16 If you can't attend, please submit a comment to be read at the meeting (details below).

To register as a deputant:

  • Email: commissionservices@ttc.ca and chrisanne.finnerty@ttc.ca with the following information (feel free to copy and paste)
  • Name: Your first and last name
  • Agenda Item: 2026.TTC15.16 Review of Subway Capacity Constraints and Infrastructure Readiness for Protected/Major Transit Station Areas Compliance and Provincial Densification Mandates - by Commissioner Liane Kim, seconded by Commissioner Josh Matlow
  • Reason for Deputation: I would like to bring to the Board's attention the impact of rapid and intensive development of PMTSAs/MTSAs on infrastructure (transit, roads), and the safety of the community. I would also like to illustrate how provincial policy, like Bill 23 - rapid densification, drastic reduction of development charges, centralizing planning authority with the Province - will negatively impact the City and the TTC's ability to perform the necessary infrastructure upgrades to meet the needs of a massive demographic surge.
  • Format: I would be speaking in-person at City Hall, 100 Queen St. W, Committee Room 1 (or, indicate you will be be speaking virtually)
  • You will receive an email confirmation once successfully registered
  • Location: City Hall - 100 Queen Street West, Committee Room 1
  • Time: Noon, 12pm

Virtual: To join, please copy and paste the link below into your browser and follow prompts, including adding your first and last name. You will enter and remain in the virtual lobby until your agenda item 2026.TTC.15.16 comes up. Once you've been admitted to the meeting, you will be prompted verbally when it is your turn to speak.

Can't attend? Submit a comment to be read out at the meeting:

  • Email your comments to commissionservices@ttc.ca
  • Clearly state your email is for distribution to the Board members
  • Include the agenda item number and meeting date (2026.TTC15.16, June 3, 2026)

And please share our petition with 5 people https://www.change.org/FamiliesAndInfrastructureFirst . Anyone with an email address can sign. Let's get to 3000 signatures! Once again, thank you for your support!
